True Science
Science: "to know"

This dinosaur is called a Styracosaurus. Do you know how I remember his name?  Just think of “tie rack,” and put an “S” on it.  Instead of “tie rack” you say “stie rack.” Styrac-o-saurus.

He could easily have looked into a window on the 6th floor.

He would have weighed about 100 tons.  That is about as much as 14 school buses stacked up on top of one another.  Do you think you could have lifted him?

This dinosaur is called a Maiasaurus.  It is pronounced:

MY-ah-SORE-us.

Its name means “good mother lizard.”

It had about 150 teeth!  If you had 150 teeth, it might take you all morning long to brush them.

T-Rex had long sharp teeth. But many people believe T-Rex was just a gentle puppy dog-like

dinosaur that didn’t eat meat. Many people believe he only ate vegetables.

T-Rex had little short front legs, and he wasn’t really built for fighting.  Sometimes people draw pictures to make him look scary, but he might not have been.

This dinosaur is called a Pachycephalosaurus. PACK-ee-SEF-a-loh-SORE-us  The Pachycephalosaurus had a skull that was 10 inches thick. He is believed to be one of the head-butting dinosaurs.

There is a creature in the Bible that is called Leviathan.  It was real big, had tough scaly skin, smoke came out of its nostrils, fire came out of its mouth, and it is called a “dragon” in chapter 41 of the book of Job.

Actually, dinosaurs are reptiles.  Reptiles keep growing as long as they live.  They never stop growing until they die.  The dinosaur fossil they found the size of a chicken might have been just a young dinosaur that hadn’t grown very much yet.

If you believe there are 31 different kinds of dinosaurs represented in those 4 pictures, then you would estimate there are possibly 2,000 or more different kinds of dinosaurs that have been discovered.  If you believe there are actually only 4 different kinds of dinosaurs represented in those 4 pictures, then you would probably estimate that there are only about 40 different kinds of dinosaurs that have been discovered.

So, it is probably either 40 or 2,000; depending on your point of view.  Classifications can be difficult at times, and different opinions exist.

If the velocirapter had very, very, sharp claws; do you know what that means?
